50 spacious apartments redefine urban living in Melbourne CBD.

Reshape acted as Project Manager and Superintendent for Make Room, leading the adaptive reuse of the former City of Melbourne archive building into 50 studio apartments for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Working with Unison Housing, the City of Melbourne and Homes Victoria, Reshape coordinated the design, approvals, procurement, construction and stakeholder interfaces, and administered the building contract through to completion.

The project integrates permanent housing with on-site support services, shared resident spaces and a rooftop garden. Make Room received the UDIA Victoria Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing and was named Project of the Year, recognising the strength of its design, delivery model and collaboration between government, community housing and project partners. The project reflects Reshape’s experience managing complex adaptive reuse and affordable housing delivery within an existing CBD building.
